Elle 18 Black Out Liner Review, Swatches
Have you seen the ad of Anushka Sharma for Elle 18 Black Out Liner and Kajal, isn’t it quite chic and gives a solid excuse for us girls to lie when we party late till night ;) That aunt was like- “tum abhi aa rahi ho” and Anushka- “nahi aunty, ja rahi hu, morning interview!!” Isn’t it funny and a catchy advertisement ;) Well, let’s see if this liner lasts that long that I can make an excuse when I come home late at night!!Price: Rs. 65 for 5 ml
It claims to be a Jet black and water-resistant eyeliner enriched with rose water to keep your eyes cool.
My Take on Elle 18 Black Out Liner:
Elle 18Â Black Out Liner comes in a tiny round glass bottle which looks like a nail paint bottle, but it’s cute! The brush is not that long but it gives easy application since it’s thin which won’t create a thick line initially and mess up the whole look and you can go on thickening the line as much as you want. I find it easy to apply with this brush and it gives me a precise line even if I’m in a hurry. I mostly end up using this liner out of all my liners since I love how easy it is to use!!The liner is quite dark and dries to a matte finish so it doesn’t look that jet black after drying. It dries within few seconds so you won’t have to wait for long to get your liner dry and get someone to blow air on your eyes :P like in early days when I used to apply eye liner in school days while attending some function and get my friend or my mum to blow air on my eyes so that the liner dries quickly and don’t transfer to upper lids.
The staying power is good 3-4 hours after which it starts chipping from the center but doesn’t completely vanish and that’s what I love about it. For the water proof claims, I don’t think it’s water proof and rinses off when water is splashed on eyes. Overall, it’s a good quality budget product and I would definitely recommend it to beginners, you can learn to create various eye makeup looks with this liner since it gives very easy precise application though I wish the brush was a bit long. What I Like About Elle 18 Black Out Liner:
- Super cheap.
- Easily available.
- Brush applicator is good enough for the price.
- Gives easy precise application.
- Lasts for good 3-4 hours.
- Dries within few seconds.
- Doesn’t irritate the eyes.
- Smooth texture.
- It’s water-resistant.
- Gives thinnest line possible.
- It’s quite dark but not jet black, still I love how intense and dark it looks.
What I Don’t Like About Elle 18 Black Out Liner:
- It isn’t water-proof.
- The brush applicator should have been a lil longer.
- Starts to chip from the center after 4 hours.

elle 18 makes somes pretty cool products… this seems to be okish and as you said the brush is too small. I liked the kajal from elle 18 they are highly pigmented and does not smudge like any other kajal
Yup Elle 18 is affordable and really good!
It looks quite a decent liner.. I wish it had a long staying power without chipping off !
